How a Scoteri ride works.
Find a scooter on the map, scan to unlock, ride, and park where the app allows. Launching first in Erbil.

Find a scooter nearby
Open the map to see the scooters around you, with the places you can ride and park drawn on the same map.
02Scan
Scan the code to unlock
Point your camera at the QR code on the handlebar. If it will not scan, type the short number printed under it.
03Start
The scooter confirms, then you go
Scoteri sends the unlock and waits for the scooter to confirm it. Your ride timer starts only once it has.
04Ride
The zones ride with you
Time and distance update as you go. Slow and no-ride areas are applied on the scooter itself, not left to a warning.
05End
Finish where parking is allowed
End the ride in a place you can park. Inside a no-parking area the ride stays open until you move the scooter.
06Photo
Take a parking photo
Photograph the parked scooter, upright and out of the way, so there is a record of how it was left.
07Review
The team checks your parking
Your photo goes to the Scoteri operations team, who confirm the scooter was parked properly.
08Confirm
Ride confirmed
Once the parking is approved the ride closes, and the scooter is ready for the next person.
09Charge
The fare comes off your balance
The cost of the ride is deducted from your in-app balance, and every ride is listed in your wallet.

When the map says slow down, the scooter does.
Restrictions are applied to the scooter itself, so the rules of the street hold even if you never look at your phone.
- Throttle cut
No-ride zone
The scooter stops pulling and coasts to a halt. Step off and push until you are out of the area, so it is worth checking the map before you set off.
- Park refused
No-parking zone
Your ride will not close there. The app shows the nearest place you can leave the scooter, usually a short push away.
- Speed limited
Slow zone
The scooter simply will not go faster while you are inside the area. There is nothing to press and nothing to acknowledge.
Paying for a ride.
Rides are paid from a balance in your Scoteri app. At launch you will top it up securely with your card: choose an amount, confirm, and your balance updates. A ride is charged when it closes, and every ride is listed in your wallet.
Before your first ride.
You confirm your identity once, in the app, before your first unlock. It links every scooter on the street to an accountable account, which is part of how a city can trust a shared fleet.
Get early access.
The Scoteri app is not published yet. Leave your details and we will tell you when you can ride in Erbil. Nothing else, and nothing shared.
Rider questions.
Not yet. Scoteri is pre-launch: the platform and the scooters have been tested, but there is no public fleet on the street. Erbil is the first city.
The app is not on the App Store or Google Play yet. Join the early access list on this page and you will hear when it is.
From a balance in the app, which you top up with your card. Card top-up is the payment experience planned for launch.
The photo shows the scooter was left upright and out of the way. The Scoteri operations team reviews it before your ride is confirmed, which keeps pavements clear for everyone.
The ride will not end inside a no-parking area. The app shows you where you can finish instead.
You have probably entered a slow zone or a no-ride zone, and the scooter is applying it. Leave the area and it returns to normal. If it is a fault, report it in the app and the scooter is taken out of service.
Yes, automatically. Headlights switch on for night riding without you doing anything.
